Unless I have badly misjudged the dates and timezones (easy to do, since I live in India right now), Canada will be opening the polls in a few hours. My personal hope is that Stephen Harper doesnapos;t get the majority government he seeks, since the economy generally doesnapos;t perform well under conservatives, who seem to be all about deficit spending, poor oversight, and irresponsible tax cuts. Canada is in better shape than the�United States financially due to the financial policies started by the Liberals a few years back, and Iapos;d like to see us continue to run surplusapos;s that pay down debt than continue deficits in this time of economic danger.

Anyway, that is my opinion. Now its time to sit back and watch the politics, Canadaapos;s second favourite blood sport after ice hockey.
